Special Note from Chloe.Anah
Welcome, dear reader, to my first ever blog post! I have never written one of these before. Though I have written many Facebook posts over the years, this would be my first ever long blog post. Between you and me, I think keeping a public studio journal is a wonderful excuse to slow down for a few minutes every day and reflect on what I'm creating. Hopefully it gives you a chance to see not only the finished artwork, but also the journey behind it. If we get to know each other a little better along the way, I'd call that a success.

But first, you know absolutely nothing about me so I guess it would only be fair to share such information. My name is the brand: Chloe.Anah. I have been an aspiring artist since I could walk. I attended Kendall College of Art and Design from 2011 until 2014 focusing on Illustration. I did not complete this degree, but I will say prioritizing my passion for art was the best part of my life during this time.
From 2014 through to 2025 life got in the way. Without getting into all of the grimy details, I packed away my paints, my brushes, and art and everything I was so passionate about for so much of my life into a small box up in an attic where it was waiting oh so patiently for life to slow down enough for me to return to it. Patiently waiting for me to find my place and my someone who wanted to build with me.
Then I met my magnificent life and business partner. It was during this chapter of my life, when I finally felt like I could breathe again, and that the little box of passions was opened once more. Together, we combined our creative ambitions to create Clarkwork Studios: An independent creative studio where my visual art and his artistic ability with code can fuse into each other. I know some people might laugh when I say coding is an art, but after watching him work, I genuinely believe it is.
With my partner as the Technical Director, and myself as the Creative Director, we've set out to build something that reflects both of our passions. But before any games can get released, there is one dream I wanted to bring to life first:
I wanted to paint again.
And so, Chloe.Anah was born as the fine art brand for Clarkwork Studios.
Now that you know a little about me, let's start where every journal should...
From the Easel
Today I simply worked on ACEOs. What are ACEO's you ask? ACEO stands for Art Cards, Editions, and Originals. It refers to miniature, highly collectible works of art that measure exactly 2.5 by 3.5 inches. They are the exact same size as standard trading cards and there is only one rule: They must measure 2.5x3.5 inches.
I wanted to create a small series so I made three little paintings of flowers in vases that I would like to share with you below.
And then of course, the are now listed for sale on Ebay. I put them on a 7 day auction with a $3.99 starting price. In case you are interested, I have the link below as well!
Behind the Brush
While today was more of an exploration of seeing how tiny I could paint, here are some of the things I learned and loved about these little ACEOs:
My current method is pencil, then ink, then color. However if I forget to remove the pencil markings after ink and before color, it becomes difficult to remove the pencil markings later. This definitely happened to the blue and lilac ACEO.
One thing I did that I absolutely love was the vase of the orange tulips. The way I used the red in the shadows I just made myself gasp.
Events
We have a few upcoming events coming up:
On July 5th at 2pm I will be hosting my first Facebook Live Portrait Event. Here I will be painting 8 portrait submissions given to me by some very generous patrons. I am very excited to do this event and I hope it does well so that I may do more in the future.
On July 6th we have our first round of Print Club being shipped out! I'm excited to get this piece out to our exclusive members.
On July 25th I will be at the Richland Art Fair where I will be selling some prints, originals, and of course doing some live painting. This will be of course my first art fair, and I am very excited to see how this pans out for the brand.
We also have some more events coming down the pipeline, hopefully we will have more information on that soon as we develop.
Clarkwork Corner
Now for something a little different and we can wander on to the other side of the studio. What is Clarkwork Studios working on?By now you're probably looking around the Chloe.Anah website and thinking, "There sure are a lot of fairies, flowers, and pastel colors. Does that mean Clarkwork Studios only makes frilly games?" The answer to that is: Absolutely Not!
In fact, our first game that we're working on is Blood on the Ice. But what is Blood on the Ice? Well I will tell you. Blood on the Ice is the furthest you can get from fairies and flowers and pretty pastel colors that you see here for sale at Chloe.Anah. It is a brutal retro hockey game with enough lore to make the violence feel perfectly justified. In a realm where multiple countries go and participate in the most violent hockey league of all time. BOTI is retro-inspired by many mid to late 90's games. So, if Chloe.Anah is fairies, forests, watercolor, and quiet afternoons, then Blood on the Ice is broken noses, flying gloves, shattered sticks, and hockey players settling their differences the old-fashioned way.
Our journey for BOTI began in September of 2025, and since then we've slowly watched two very different creative disciplines come together inside Unity. Ryan brings the code. I bring the art. Together, we're building something that couldn't exist without both. Eventually, we will have this game released on Steam and maybe even release it for VR.
