Studio Journal - July 5th, 2026
From the Easel
Today was our first ever Live Stream event! It was hosted on my private Facebook page for my families and friends and patrons!
It was a beautiful time where I took 8 preordered portraits and painted them live. It was initially to prepare myself to paint in front of potentially hundreds of potential patrons. I would say it was a pretty big success.
Additionally, we did finish our little witch girl yesterday. While I did record it, the video ended up being a 39 minute video. I am currently learning how to bring that time down. In the meantime, she will be available for print soon.
Behind the Brush
I was very proud of our Live Portrait Event. However, in lessons learned I have recognized it takes an average of 22 minutes to finish a portrait. Rather than my hopeful 15 minutes. What I kept telling myself is that I would rather have the piece look good than prioritize the time limit I had set for myself. Therefore my live event that I thought was only going to last 2 hours, lasted 3. It's insane how 7 minutes on 8 pieces made that large of a difference in the event. Another point I would like to add, is I do feel confident that I can host these events more for the public. Therefore, I will be looking into how to do TikTok lives instead of Facebook lives on my private account.

On July 6th (Tomorrow!) we have our first round of Print Club being shipped out! I'm excited to get this piece out to our exclusive members. There are a lot of benefits to the Print Club:
Best price on prints. You are getting a 5x7 at the same price I charge 4x6.
These pieces are exclusive to the print club. You cannot have access to the print club pieces unless you are part of the print club.

It's only $15 per month. It's cheaper and more tangible than the good Hulu Subscription.
On July 25th I will be at the Richland Art Fair where I will be selling some prints, originals, and of course doing some live painting. This will be of course my first art fair, and I am very excited to see how this pans out for the brand.
We also have some more events coming down the pipeline, hopefully we will have more information on that soon as we develop.
Clarkwork Corner
We did get a decent amount of things done for BOTI today. We are hashing out our player in our 3D modeling program. We are only on our fourth revision, so I am feeling lucky. One thing to remember about Blood on the Ice is that the style is very different from the art available here. So talk about range you have to have. While my fine are pieces are very loose and organic, Blood on the Ice will have the style of sharp and rigid angles and polygons relative to the ancestors of video games that helped make them so great today. As you can see below, fourth revision player has a long way to go. I will say it is a huge challenge to separate myself from my organic style and become rigid.

🎵 Currently Listening To: Today has been a documentary day. We enjoyed some squatters on Hulu today.
😊 Studio Mood: I feel a lot of pride today succeeding on our first live stream. Feeling good assessing my lessons learned and improving for the next opportunity.
🎯 Tomorrow's Goal: We have a lot of clean up to do for the BOTI Player. Walking the fine line of paying homage to original style of video games, and looking tacky and untalented has my nerves a little rattled.
